Telemedicine is HORRIBLE. My brother in law who has been fighting the VA for various appointments over the past 2 years was finally given one in August, SKYPED a doctor who btw was 40 minutes from where he lived and couldn’t get a physical appointment. Ridiculous.
If a vet lives far away from a VA medical facility, this could be a great way to get a second opinion on the medical care required. It can never hurt to have a second opinion or just to ask questions.
I think the vet should feel comfortable about talking to a professional about their problems and it is very hard to talk to a tv screen and I think it is not professional at all
This is definitely important especially for some of our veterans from American Samoa, since they are thousands of miles away from any VA hospital. There are many others who are also prohibitively far away from VA hospitals. While it would be better for them to make it to the VA locations, sometimes it is not very practical, and this is an alternative that may be able to help some veterans.
