Naming destruction family recreation doesn't change the destruction, the pollution of air and water, destruction of animal habitat--not to mention the noise pollution. People who love noise and speed tend to be less interested in their surroundings and in nature. There are plenty of paved over places for this kind of recreation that won't destroy the tranquility and peace of nature for those who value the serenity of nature.

Why bother? Seems like a pork barrel project to me. We as a nation have more life saving use for whatever cost are related to this project. Stop pork barrel spending till we have no debt and a balanced budget.

If this is something that the people of the State of California want, they can vote and pay for it themselves!
