Official Title

To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.

Summary

ObamaCare Repeal Act This bill repeals the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, effective as of December 31, 2017. Provisions of law amended by those Acts are restored.

    Countable member David said it well enough: "The Affordable Care Act , also known as Obamacare, was a disastrous piece of legislation that not only wasn't affordable for most, but contributed to an incredible increase in health insurance costs. Instead, it subsidized health insurance companies to compensate for having to cover people with "pre-existing" conditions. Although it may have been conceived in a noble cause, it was deceitfully promoted, unconstitutionally changed "on the fly", and has proven to be economically unsustainable. The bottom line is that the government has no mandates under the Constitution to provide health care, and based on their poor management of other programs such as Social Security and Medicare, they are not fit to manage a program of this sort. Let's get the government out of the health insurance business, and promote an environment that lets the free market offer better options. I urge Congress to support H.R. 1718 Obamacare Repeal Act."
