Sanctioning Entities & Individuals Involved with Iran’s Ballistic Missile Program

Argument in favor

The U.S. needs to enforce sanctions on individuals and entities involved with Iran’s ballistic missile program or that buy & sell conventional weapons with Iran. In no way do those sanctions violate the letter or spirit of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (aka the Iran nuclear deal).

I am always in favor of more sanctions and a no-nonsense approach to dealing with the terrorist ruled Iranian State. So happy to see the JCPOA decertified and hope to see the Europeans realize it was a huge mistake and join us in demoralizing this dangerous enemy.

You really need to read this twice, to fully appreciate the nuances of what’s being proposed. This proposes sanctions on individuals responsible for advancing ballistic and standard warfare. Meaning, we are going after state sponsored terror it’s actors and their wallets. Something both sides of the aisle, and globe, all agree upon doing. Next, it specifies the President must update the House on activities. It requires him to do so. This is important as it helps keep our elected officials abreast of any activity. No hidden agendas from the President, current or future. What it does not do, is drop the current treaty. It pushes back in bad behavior, while maintaining the worlds ability to monitor nuclear activity. This in my opinion is the best way forward, for now.

I support the Iran Nuclear Deal. Sanctioning Iran’s ballistic missile program, however, does not break the nuclear deal in any form and hurts Iran military, which should be our goal. The US should support policies that strengthen Iran’s economy and weaken its military.

Argument opposed

Taking steps to sanction entities and individuals that are in some way involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program will further antagonize Iran. These sanctions may not directly go against the terms of the JCPOA, but enforcing them may make Iran less likely to comply with its terms.

A report from the Guy yelling about President Barack Obama being born in Kenya. The same guy who stated Senator Cruiz’s father assisted in the murder of President Kennedy. Yeah the man who is less reliable then The National Enquirer, which he considers to publish a reliable news source.

Respect the treaty with Iran on nuclear bombs. Dropping this treaty will not pull any other nation from the treaty and will give Iran further evidence not to the trust the U.S. It makes the leadership of this country look like a moron.

How well has this worked against N. Korea? It has just shown how impudent the US is in these circumstances. Iran will do what Iran wants. Russia is on Iran’s northern border and is a trading partner. Do you actually believe Russia will turn it’s back on Iran?

Negotiate a solution with Iran and our partners instead of sanctioning Iran. Prove to the world that Trump is not a dictator.

Stop. Just stop. Stop antagonizing Iran. These sanctions will only make a heated situation even more heated and they completely fly in the face of the spirit of the nuclear deal. We should not be throwing sanctions at Iran whenever they do something that we don’t like. If we want to turn down the temperature, we need more dialogue and diplomacy in our approach to Iran as well as North Korea.

I am not in support of this bill. This issue has become very mundane. The United States needs to stop picking fights with other countries. What they are doing is not hurting us in the U.S. you

Iran has a new leader & a more moderate administration, something Trump wouldn’t know about since he can’t read & doesn’t really care about the facts. Iran has held up its end of the deal and should be allowed to continue this deal unless they really do something that doesn’t fit the deal made.

I believe trump should approve the nuclear deal and approach the world community to come together to deal with Iran’s missile, meddling in other nations sovereignty and other issues. I think that Iran will negotiate over these issues.

Stick to the terms of the deal. Are we going to start sanctioning our allies?

The current President may not read or give honest reports, but this will help future Presidents and Congress to keep tabs on Iran. It should also be noted that this wouldn’t be necessary if Trump would’ve just maintained recognition of our agreement with Iran.

Let’s start by sanctioning American Politicians, their families and their associated businesses and rental properties; any who have consistently voted “NO” for eight years and who continually do not perform any of the responsibilities of their political positions or perform to an acceptable performance level. Those that spend millions of dollars on repeals of previous administrations accomplishments and do not work to serve the needs of today or tomorrow for their constituents.

Iran has no need for intercontinental ballistic missiles. Sanctions is one of many steps to stop the Iranian missile program. Stop Iran now before it becomes another North Korea.

Yes, of course we should enforce the terms of the agreement. What is the point of an agreement if it is not going to be enforced?

Stop antagonizing other countries. World War III will break out sooner or later if the U.S. continues to needlessly bully other countries that pose little to no threat to it.
