A commemorative chair in the Capitol funded by private contributions would be a poignant reminder to visitors of the sacrifices made by POW/MIA servicemembers and their families.

Putting a commemorative chair in the Capitol building is an empty gesture that is unlikely to provide much of a reminder about the sacrifices of POW/MIA American servicemembers.

Nothing short of a monument placed adjacent to the Capital building will suffice, so that all who enter will heed the sacrifice made for freedom, and will think twice before arguing further warmongering and imperialism. The chair would be fine as an added bonus, partly because it will be privately funded.

It's government and that means that a ten dollar chair that is supposed to be paid for by donations will end up costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars or more. If one of the veterans organizations wants to place a chair then it's a simple matter of giving permission to do so, shouldn't involve a government employee doing more than pointing towards the proper spot.

Way too little. These people have and are giving far more than a dumb chair could ever come close to signifying. Put up a real monument. It's done all the time for some politician or other. Do real honor to people.

Absolutely. We can get Bly hope that it reminds a few politicians what it really means to serve the nation. Also, no reason not to do this since it is funded through private donors.
This is an insult not a remembrance for the pain and suffering of POW/MIA's! How about a "chair" in the capital rotunda so you pinheads can "remember" all the taxpayers who fund your luxurious lifestyle!
