It’s not perfect, but this bipartisan bill would fund the federal government for the rest of FY2021 and provide much needed relief from the coronavirus pandemic to Americans, including stimulus checks, loans for small businesses, grants for shuttered venues, and healthcare funding that will aid the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Congress should consider the FY2021 funding bills and the coronavirus relief measures separately. Combining them into a massive 5,593 page, $2.3 trillion package that’s publicly available for less than a day prior to a vote is an irresponsible affront to transparency and good governance.
