Among its numerous flaws it is a direct violation of the Constitution, "...shall NOT be infringed...," and it requires all members, ALL, of a household to get a psych eval. if just one member wants to purchase a firearm and it will require the contact of all spouses, present and PAST, to be contacted in regards to your mental fitness to own a gun; yes, that's right, it will ask a person who in all likelihood dislikes you and/or holds a grudge against you if you are mentally fit to own a firearm. All this while making politicians wealthy off of the extortion you pay them to own a firearm and maintain all newly required licences. Not only that, in all likelihood only the rich will be able to afford a firearm.
This bill is laden with many Constitutional violations and needs to be struck down immediately.
You would be inviolation of your oath of office, should you decide to join the group already in violation of theirs by submitting another useless and misinformed bill.
A well regulated Militia (ie: the People of the Republic of the United States - not the military - which is topic for another time), being necessary to the security of a free State (ie: The Republic of the United States) the right of the people (Every citizen of the Republic of the United States) to keep and bear (ie: to have in their possession at any given time) Arms (ie: military weapons of any kind), shall not be infringed (<- I’m pretty sure you can guess that definition.)
The Constitution and Bill of Rights are both very clear on their meaning. They are not rights given to us by congress, they are unalienable rights, that’s rights that we are born with as free men of this world. I’d like to add that this statement is not up for debate, nor is it something that you may interpret to say what you think it should. It states what it states nothing further.
This bill is an egregious effort to strip normal Americans of their rights to defend themselves. The costs of training and licensing would be preventative to those who need it most. This would increase patrols and harassment of the poor and minorities. Additionally this is direct violation of the Second Amendment. This bill proposes all types of infringements upon the people. With the amount of civil unrest we’ve seen and the storming of the Capitol how could anyone be comfortable limiting their own self defense capabilities? In the past year we’ve police strikes result inaction leaving whole swaths of the nation without assistance. In those situations citizens have to depend on their own ability to protect themselves and their families. Further just look at how nation’s Capitol one of the most secure places in the world was breached. Congress was protected by people wielding guns in their defense. Those people defending our members of Congress and the Vice President had no impediments to their firearms. They had full capacity magazines and the ammunition necessary to protect themselves and others. Why should citizens not have those same protections? Additionally this bill would make millions of Americans felons overnight. The last thing our country needs is more ways to jail and strip citizens of their freedoms or rights. Also the right of Americans to own firearms is part of our national security. We have over 340 million guns in this country. That number helps to keep any would be enemy away from our shores. An invasion would be extremely devastating to anyone trying.
The bill in its current form has WAY more reach than is necessary to encourage responsible gun ownership and common sense gun laws. It seems like an underhanded attempt to catalogue guns, gun owners and is unenforceable.
This complete infringes on my rights to keep and bear arms, ammunition, creates national registry, requires me to get medical exam, mandates insurance (we just went this) and restricts my ability to basically protect myself while, police departments being reduced. Absolutely do not support this bill and take away more of my freedoms.
This will completely infringe upon my rights as an American that our forefathers laid out during the creation of our country. I can not believe that this is even a thought, especially with the current events that have occurred just in the last month. We as citizens of this country have the right to protect our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Thank you for your time and the work that you are doing for the citizens of Georgia.
To support such a bill would be an unconstitutional infringement, an intrusion into our privacies and danger to the security of our free states. It would infringe on the right to protect ourselves, our families, our communities, our state and these United States.
May God forbid any conflict on our soil larger than the little domestic threats but if there is, the citizens being armed is what will be the first defense neutralize the threat before reactionary measures of the local, state and federal agencies can arrive on the scene. The second amendment was not for hunting it was for safety and protection.
I included our second amendment and a legal definition of infringement to further argue that the mass regulating and tracking who has Arms would an infringement of the security of our state and intrusion of our privacy.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.”
n. 1) a trespassing or illegal entering. 2) in the law of patents (protected inventions), and copyrights (protected writings or graphics), the improper use of a patent, writing, graphic or trademark without permission, without notice, and especially without contracting for payment of a royalty. Even though the infringement may be accidental (an inventor thinks he is the first to develop the widget although someone else has a patent), the party infringing is responsible to pay the original patent or copyright owner substantial damages, which can be the normal royalty or as much as the infringers' accumulated gross profits. (See: patent infringement, patent, copyright, trademark, plagiarism, royalty)
We do not need more “laws” which violate the Constitution and the Second Amendment. We do not need more fees, more taxes, and more hoops to jump through under threat of fines and imprisonment. Rights cannot be taxed, registered, or discriminated, if we want to keep our republic.
This Bill, if one would even consider calling it that is a complete attack and infringement on our 2nd Amendment rights. I believe that the passage of this bill would be the Achilles heel to the downfall of our Constitutional Federal Republic. I believe that this bill if passed will lead to war on American soil. I urge the representatives of every state and especially those of NH to vote against this horrendous bill.
HR 127 is a complete infringement upon the common citizens rights guaranteed in the 2nd amendment. This bill will fill our prisons with previously law abiding citizens. The 117th Congress will also have to mandate the building of prisons in every state to house the so called “criminals” resulting from this bullshit resolution. There will be civil war in the US equivalent to fighting major conflicts on five fronts. The US military is not equipped or prepared to gun down the citizenry they are trained to defend and protect.
The Constitution would be: The Bill of Rights; 1st Amendment...3rd Amendment and so on.
