I respect tribal sovereignty and the rights of these nations to establish their own oversight rules. I worry that increasing oversight in these communities will only make separation of families more frequent and cultural destruction more rapid.

Foster care system needs a complete overhaul for all children. We can do better to move children into adoptive families
Native Americans are humans, we shouldn't be giving them anything others don't get, and nor be giving them extra work .
Equal protection under the law. This would mandate the same standards for Native American foster children as non-natives. The goal should be protection of all children, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, etc.
We need to allow native people alone. We treat them like toddlers which they are not. If the white population was capable of protecting children (in Florida we seem to lose children in the foster care system when it turns out they were killed), maybe we would have something to contribute. Native people should ALONE be responsible for issues that affect them.
I wouldn't want my kid raised in a home that wasn't thoroughly investigated first.
Stop separating it by Native American children, white children, Asian children, and black children. Can't it all come together just as children?

Half a million dollars seems like a tiny amount to ensure that children aren't being put in the hands of dangerous people. This is hardly a mandate, since tribes can opt out if they want, they just won't receive federal funding.
No. Haven't we done enough to these people already for us to screw them over more by feeding them to bureaucrats?
