Should IRS Employees be Banned From Using Personal Email Accounts For Official Business?

Argument in favor

Allowing IRS employees to use their personal email accounts for government business makes oversight impossible — and the IRS has a track record for flagrantly disregarding federal records laws.

Official business is just that. Ya gotta keep it separated!

It just makes logical sense. If you can't use your work email for work related emails you are probably trying to hide something. This bill just makes people more accountable and I am in favor of it.

Argument opposed

It’s already illegal for government employees to do official business on a personal email account. In cases of extreme wrongdoing, a subpoena can be issued for a federal employee’s personal email. This bill is unnecessary.

Why are we targeting this agency? There should be no selective enforcement within our government

This is common sense and your wasting time and my money. Anyone using their personal email to conduct official business should be fired and charged immediately
