Should Whistleblowers be Allowed to Disclose Information to More People?

Whistleblowers play an important role in identifying illegal conduct, waste of funds, gross mismanagement, or other misconduct at federal agencies. These people should have as many avenues as possible for whistleblowing.

Whistleblowers need a lot more protection! Only people on the inside will have a clear understanding of anything that is happening within our government that’s wasteful, illegal, or unethical.

Argument opposed
Agency supervisors, agency inspector generals, and the Office of Special Counsel are all already authorized to receive information from whistleblowers. That’s enough people who can receive information from whistleblowers — expanding the list is unnecessary.

Whistle blowers should be able to disclose information to general public. What the government does all should know. It’s called being above reproach. If someone would be called a whistle blower for talking about it (I.e. Snowden) don’t do it.

No, it appears that this is a redundant bill. These people are covered in other regulations.

People seeing things going on within a corporation that are ethically, morally, and legally wrong should have avenues within their organization to go to and if it doesn’t work then, then they should be given other avenues in which to voice their concerns if nothing works internally
That's a no brainer. Think about it as if you were travelling down the road. You see a vehicle rear end another vehicle and then drive off. What do you do? The right answer would be to report what you saw in order for there to be some sort of justice.
We must protect children with whistleblower protections as well.
History has proven that no society, culture, or nation survives 4 generations of continual neglect and the widespread abandonment of societal protections for children. America’s fourth generation should be here in less than 5 years, our birth rate continues to fall, and the only sustained concern I have witnessed from any of our elected officials is a concern for the welfare of 2 undocumented children during the month of December.
Emotional abuse is destroying family systems from the inside out and must be stopped. Not only do whistleblower protections need to be in place, but recourse actions must be made available should those protections fail.

"Supervisors, Inspector Generals and Special Counsels" are a good start, but who knows what they will bury and what will be brought to light....The actions of the above are much more likely to be impacted by the scope of who is aware of the content the whistle blower has put forward.....once again, TRANSPARENCY is key....I can think of very little that is done "in the dark".
Yes. When things are done behind closed doors corruption starts the run wild. Laws get ignored & damage is allowed to grow until there is no hiding it.
