Funding the Gov’t for One Day to Avoid a Shutdown While Congress Considers a COVID Relief & Appropriations Package
Argument in favor
In an ideal world, Congress would pass funding for FY2021 on time without needing a fourth continuing resolution in two and a half months to do its job and fund the government. However, lawmakers need one more day to finalize a coronavirus relief package and FY2021 appropriations, and this bill would avoid a brief partial government shutdown.

This is absurd. It is the job of the senate/ government to SERVE WE THE PEOPLE. That is not done by blocking every move of the other party. Tax payers don't give a sh#t if our servants gain more power or prestige. Senators only job is the take care of us.

What's next . . . extending the deadline by the hour like a nasty motel? All I know is no self-respecting government should work this way. I don't see members of Congress having to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

While there may be bipartisan support for extending government for one day to avoid a shutdown, Congress should allow a partial government shutdown to occur Monday as a means of encouraging members to reach a compromise on appropriations for the rest of FY2021 and a coronavirus relief package.

Maybe all the politicians should live on $1800 for 10 months and see how they do.
And another day Congress didn't do it's job and gets payed for it. Is there any other job where you can be more than two months late in the fulfillment of duties and not be fired? Shutting them down sounds more and more attractive the longer this continues. And you can be sure next year's spending bill will benefit corporate and military interests far more than the whole of society or the common man (or woman). Congress is able to work quite well together, however, when it comes to welfare for corporate donors and funding never ending wars.
Well ....damn! If this is how they are going to do it....one day at a time THAT will keep them busy! They WILL, however, have to remember weekends...recesses and "holiday breaks"....so-o-o, sometimes, they'll have to extend it at least THREE days at a time and lord knows how many days for all the time they take off.

A long-awaited deal has FINALLY been reached. Our government is already handling multiple crises, a shutdown shouldn’t be one of them.
This is stupid, funding two days, funding 1 day. Get your act together and make a year long plan to find the government. What are you trying to do - stall it off until the new government gets sworn in? Fix it and get the stimulus package passed, with a reasonable help for all people. This 300 to 600 each to help kick start the economy. Is not going to help, most people need another 1200 to maybe break even if they are lucky. Start working for the people who elected you to your office,
No one in public office should ever serve more than one term.
