house Bill H. Con. Res. 119

Allowing the Greater D.C. Soap Box Derby to be Held on the Capitol Grounds

Argument in favor

The annual soap box derby on the Capitol grounds is a Washington, D.C. tradition that doesn’t cost the federal government any money.

Why is this before congress? Congress needs to do a budget, not mess with kids. Congressional grounds belong to the people and the people want to use it for a kids soap box derby. Get over yourselves and get to work.

Perhaps the elected ones should be inconvenienced occasionally by constituents. Pay back is a bitch!

Argument opposed

Congress needs to put a stop to this tradition. The Capitol grounds aren’t a racetrack and this event creates a traffic nightmare in the D.C. area.

Do we actually need a BILL for this?! I get so annoyed by some of the nonsensical stuff that Congress spends their time on! Congress has more important things they need to be considering!
