VP Kamala Harris Picks Gov. Tim Walz As Her Running Mate

Tim Walz, Governor of MN, is an interesting choice that I didn't know much about before he was selected, but now that he has been picked, I can see how he helps with the type of voter that Hillary Clinton lost in 2016, and has the background to deal with China as a competitor or adversary.

From a rural NE town that likes hunting, went into the military, worked in a blue collar job, and used the military benefits to pay for college. Became a teacher and taught in China for a while (speaks Mandarin). Returned to teach and coach football in rural NE where he met his wife returning to MN to teach and coach football (had a championship team). Formed a travel company for educational trips to China for students.

Worked on Kerry campaign, attended Wellstone election classes, and then ran his own House Representative campaign serving 6 terms and was on agriculture, armed forces, veterans committees, and the Congressional-Executive Commission on China. 

Supported bills to raise the minimum wage, voted for stem cell research, Medicare to negotiate pharmaceutical prices, and voiced support for pay-as-you-go budget rules, requiring that new spending or tax changes not add to the federal deficit while serving in a red district.

Now serving as a 2nd term governor of MN.

Governor Walz is a practical progressive.  

He has led Minnesota quite well.  I'm glad Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has added him to her team!  

I do not , I confess, know that much about Waltz.    His voting records seems to be something I agree with, but I will have to educate myself more about him.

If that is her pick, then I support it!

Another leftie.  They say that the Democratic party is aligned with communism.  These two will conform that knowledge.  I can't wait for Kamala to take questions from reporters, especially when they ask her if her Maxist father had an influence on her politics?  You know he did. 

For those who don't pay attention.  When I vote it's 20% candidate and 80% policies because policies will affect me a lot more than the candidate.  With that said, do you want an open border allowing criminals, terrorists, drugs and diseases entering America unabated.  If you don't care and are OK with an open border I would hope nobody in your family becomes a victim.  My fear is we are long overdue for some terrorist act on American soil and Democrats are making it easy for that to come to fruition.  

All great VP choices.

Harris can't really go wrong with any of them as they all have a track record of attracting bipartisan voters and are good communicators.

Depends on whether Harris wants to strengthen the blue wall with Shapiro or Walz, the southern states with Beshear or Cooper, or emphasize issues with Buttigieg (infrastructure projects in states) or Kelly (immigration and military experience).
