Joe Biden has announced he will end his candidacy for re-election.
In a letter posted to his social media account, Biden said it had been the greatest honor of his life to serve as president.
"And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling the duties as president for the remainder of my term."

After announcing he will end his candidacy for re-election, President Joe Biden endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential race.
Posting on X, Biden wrote:
"Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump."

Absolutely I support K. Harris. Biden is a true public servant and a gentleman. Unfortunately men with integrity, convictions and class are few and far between in politics. Trump is a classless, self centered thief who has no interest in helping Americans live better lives. He does however want to avoid jail and profit from the presidency. Biden has made the hard decision, and he has given his support to VP Harris, it's time to get behind her and have a Bluse tidal wave! I don't agree with some of her positions, but I really don't agree with almost all of what the GOP / Trump are standing for!

Biden did an overall excellent job as our President. The fear resulting from his debate performance was deplorable. However, his decision to withdraw was honorable and honest. I am fully in support of Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.
