Craft Handmade Cards for Children, Seniors, and Veterans
Provide support & smiles
The Dilemma
Between ten to 20 million children in the U.S. have some form of a chronic illness or disability. The toll of hospital visits, examinations, illness, and social isolation can weigh heavy on young kids.
Your Role in the Solution
Give the gift of good vibes by crafting a handmade card with an uplifting message for a sick or injured child—a small but meaningful gesture that will bring joy to a young person who needs and deserves it.
Multiple national and local organizations are dedicated to collecting and sending cards to children’s hospitals, as well as seniors, veterans, and any person in need of encouragement.
Cardz for Kidz delivers cards across the globe to children, families, seniors, and veterans--in hospitals, schools, senior living facilities, and other nonprofits. They also have volunteer opportunities and are always looking for sponsors or donations.
Plan a card writing event for your company or organization - it could be a team-building activity, or you could even set up a craft-making table at the next company event or party.
Note: Be sure to check out the guidelines before you start your card-creation: certain content (i.e., “get well”) and decorations (googly eyes) are off-limits.
