When will someone step up and lead instead of bowing to pressure from far right or far left? We wonder why we have the candidates we have for president. Who wants to try and work with a dysfunctional Congress and Senate? Neitherbody has done the work of the American people in over 20 years. Until Congress and Senate decide to work for the public our country is in big trouble.

Janet Yellen said in an interview that it's important for the U.S. to prioritize education in Ukraine because it's in America's national security interest.

While I am not opposed to funding for Ukraine entirely, comments like this  make me want to oppose anything for Ukraine. I disagree with funding anything beyond the military support of Ukraine, especially domestic spending in that country. I understand there are rationalizations, but I oppose them.

I also continue to want to understand better what has already been spent in Ukraine.

Please limit your support to military needs in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

In January, when we're back here facing yet another shutdown, I will be just as disgusted.

Expell the Facsist Caucus from Congress-and that included Mike Johnson.

The power of T-Day break on the House vote as the House closed until after T-Day after passing the legislation with dem support.

Chaos Caucus is calling strike 1 of 2 on Johnson before he suffers the same fate as McCarthy,

"The Senate has overwhelmingly passed a deal to avoid a government shutdown after Democratshelped the deal pass the House of Representatives. Now, the bill will go to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature."

"Earlier, the House closed down until after Thanksgiving with no votes until 28 November after Speaker Mike Johnson failed to pass another spending bill following his enlisting of the Democrats to get through the funding package".

"Texas Rep Chip Roy told CNN that going ahead with the spending bill without cuts and passing it under suspension of the rules with the help of members from across the aisle was “strike one and strike two” for Mr Johnson."

All I can say is this measure just did more of the same of kicking the can down the road, but I am glad that a gov. shutdown was averted at least through the holidays.  Of course, a gov. shutdown at anytime is harmful to fed. workers who don't get pd., many who have to keep working without the benefit of pay.  These looming shutdowns need to stop and Congress needs to do its damn job.  If any business operated like this they'd be closed in a skinny minute.

Speaker Mike Johnson says separation of church and state is a 'misnomer'

Absolutely not mike. Take your deranged notions and keep them privately in your home. Do not impose them in any form of public service

Appears republicans are bent on taking this country back to the 'midevil' era?

I am sick to death of the right wing and their antics!

Anyone who participated in January 6th, or who was involved with it should be charged with treason.

    That includes Mike Johnson!

Well, despite his previous actions and votes, it seems like Speaker Johnson realizes the only way he can keep the government open is to rely on Democrats to pass another set of continuing resolutions.

The crazies on the right are never going to help him unless he intends to shut it all down.

The Democrats have no reason to help the Republicans with anything they don't support, so no more finger-pointing is necessary. If the GOP wants to work with Leader Jeffries and get Democratic support, then they'll need to do so. Anything that can't pass the Democrats in the House won't get past the Senate anyways.

This will be a true test of Johnson, and we'll see how long they can kick the can...

Well, here we go again and again and again.  Can these clowns never do their God Damn jobs?  Johnson is ill equpied to lead and so far he's demonstrated just how inadequate he is in the position.  Why the House voted him as Speaker is a mystery to me given that he's as looney tunes as the other MAGA idiots in the House.  This last minute shit has to end.  Fed. employees should not have to undergo this crap over and over again.  The voters need to kick these idiots out of office and start electing people who have some damn commonsense and will work for the good of the country, not their fucking egos.  Furthermore, a law should be enacted that whenever a gov. shutdown occurs no member of Congress will be paid for as long as the shutdown is in effect and they will not be able to receive any back pay-that income would be lost forever.  It we had that type of law, this shit would stop in a skinny minute.
