Yes. We have addressed this issue multiple times on the past. Marajuana has helpful quailities and is no where near as damaging as hard drugs. It is comparable to alcohol in it's potential to cause long term harm and can be regulated in the same manner as alcohol is. I believe that long term studies are still needed to better quantify the risks but cannot see any reason that it should be restricted or policed with anything greater than the restrictions and policing associated with alcohol.

People convicted and imprisoned for Marajuana possession serve no purpose other than to enrich the for profit prison system contractors. Let them out.

    Good move!

Notice here goes another Presidential Order. If Comrade dear leader Beijing Biden want to write and pass laws he should have remained in the Senate. This is Congress job and the states under the tenth amendment to pass these laws.

Marijuana unlike fentanyl, heroin, LSD has proven benefits and less safety issues. It should not be on the same Schedule nor criminalized.

No one is in Federal prison for marijuana possession, unless there was a plea down for a larger crime. just buy a vote.

The "old" marijuana of the 60s that grew wild along the railroad tracks is NOT the hybrid marijuana of today.  There are medical benefits of using pure marijuana for people unable to eat due to cancer treatments, but for everyday "recreational" use, it has numerous setbacks.  Legal questions arise concerning the amount a person has in his/her possession for personal use vs the amount of marijuana a "street dealer" has and what has it been laced with?  What other lethal drugs was the dealer selling on the street?

If Biden is determined to pardon people who were arrested for something (in his mind) considered "minor," then perhaps he could pardon the people carrying U.S. flags in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6 that were arrested.

Simple possession of small amounts and not dealing with quantities or smuggling or illegal growing. These people should not have been in prison in the first place. The president is doing what no other has had the guts to do.

When the Fed Govt FAILS to enforce Fed Law it leads to what the Biden Admin does now. Look at the Disasters he has created. Much of which is his deliberate ignorance of our Fed Laws. We looked the other way while States legalized Rec Weed and now the Fed Govt can't enforce anything.

Now, another GIFT to Zelensky of $650 MILLION!!!!!!! Are you going to sit around and wait for Mid Term results, or, are you going to put a Stop to this BS?!? ( FL Senators) $650 MILLION???!!!!

Yet, let's cut Soc Sec, let's raise taxes, let's add fuel to inflation fire!!! When/If Common Sense returns to Congress we must declare a Fiscal Emergency and cut a this Stupid and Wasteful spending immediately. This BS giveaways to the Climate Industry and China must be nixed!! All monies to Foreign Countries must be nixed!! Payback plans must be imposed on Ukraine and Russia. Payback Plans must be Imposed on China for all the China Virus damage done to USA Citizens, Families and the Nation including a 9/11 type Fund for all those who suffered loss of family members, jobs and other harm. You better have many Bills already prepared for Voting that will restore our Constitutional Republic to it's Pre-Biden Standards or better. Laws that will never allow an Admin to Violate the Laws, Standards, Customs, Citizens, Political and Appointee Oaths of Office and Common Decency of the USA. Never Again can an Admin that is controlled by Foreign Countries, Soros types and other Billionaires and PAC's and Corruption to control the USA as we are doing now. DACA has AGAIN been ruled Unconstitutional by a Court. But, AGAIN, nobody has even commented or promised to Deport ALL DACA Aliens. And we must not even so much as consider any Amnesties whatsoever!!!! The USA Citizens must see and Deserve to see our Government end this Allegiance to Race, WOKE, CRT, Gender Dysphoria and the Very Many other actions against our U.S Constitution and the people of USA and get back to managing the People's Business properly as intended by our Constitution."Equity" and "Protected Classes" of people and the INSULTS to the USA Citizens have no place in the USA. Affirmative Action and Equity is NOT a Tenet if the U.S Constitution. We must Stop Legislating as if they are!!!

States need to do the same.  This has taken too long and costs us needless money since the majority support the legalization of pot anyhow.  I have never used it and have no plans to start now.  I just hate seeing our legal system spend so many resources on those who use pot while real criminals are not rapidly incarcerated.

Yes marijuana drug laws have been excessive for decades! The effects of the punishment are far worse to society than the effects of the drug it's self!
Clear the records of those individuals and give them a chance at the American dream!
Use the extra hail space to house the violent offenders we have in society!
Make it clear if you are violent there will be severe punishment!

The Federal government should decriminalize marijuana. Several states already legalized it, so this became a 10th amendment issue. I do not recall anything specific in the Constitution saying that the Federal government can actually make marijuana usage illegal, so the government infringes on states' rights in this manner

It helps more than it hurts.  Should have been done years and years ago. Our "commonsensical" President carries the day again.  (No I don't use it) but I sure would not stop anyone that does use it.

Decriminalizing marijuana offenses is a terrible idea. It is a gateway drug and offenders generally have other offenses on their records.

The people convicted knew that possession was against the law, and did it anyway. Do the crime serve the time. But I would support cleaning their records of the convictions after serving a sentence.
