Abortion Facts & Healthcare Resources

What's the story?
- An unprecedented leak of the initial draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization indicates that a majority of the Supreme Court justices support overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case guaranteeing a woman’s right to an abortion. While the final ruling will not be seen until June, if the heart of the draft remains unchanged, states will have the power to decide where, when, and if abortion is legal - if at all - in their jurisdiction.
- According to the Guttmacher Institute, at least 23 states have laws or constitutional amendments that could restrict the legal status of abortion upon the reversal of Roe, including 13 states with “trigger laws” that would go into effect immediately. Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, and West Virginia all have specific constitutional amendments that bar the protection of abortion rights. At least sixteen states and the District of Columbia have passed laws explicitly protecting the right for women to obtain an abortion.
- In a first-of-its-kind study conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Guttmacher Institute, researchers looked at 150 countries and territories’ unintended pregnancy and abortion rates and found that the proportion of unintended pregnancies that end in abortion increased most in countries with restrictive abortion laws. They advised governments and organizations to provide access to quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health services, including contraception and safe abortion access, as a solution for lowering unintended pregnancy and abortion rates.
In light of the potential rolling back of abortion access this summer, which could leave millions of women with restricted healthcare options, here is a list of resources to learn more about the basic facts on abortion and organizations that seek to increase access to reproductive health services.

There's something really delusional about you people. Dear Brian, there's quite a few organizations that I could name that are quite left leaning and way out there. But I don't consider every Democrat a murderer like you think the right is by killing people by not getting shots and not wearing masks and all the rest. I know lefties who didn't get shots and didn't wear masks too. When it comes to abortion I use to believe everyone had the right and it was nobodies business but there's and there's alone. As I got older I started to feel quilty in what I believed in. Then the thing that really did it for me was when democrats decided that abortion should be able to go all the way to birth. "To Birth?" Seriously? Are you that heartless? Thirteen weeks wasn't enough? I use to agree with all that rhetoric about it's my body. But now it seems you care more about Your Body than that of a full grown body of a baby. When it comes down to it it's just all about you! Not the right time, it was an accident, I got school to get through, a career, it's not a convenient time. Of coarse there are other things such as the life of the mother, insest or rape. That I could go along with. But if you've never seen and heard people who survived an abortion you might think twice. I watched a show a couple years ago with several people who, like I said, survived an abortion. They were missing limbs, had medical problems with there kidneys and liver etc. And they were so thankful they got to live and be adopted and grew up in loving homes. Now when I watch the news with these people protesting and tearing baby dolls apart to somehow prove there point that it's there right, it turns my stomach. There fowl and disgusting. You say republicans are taking us back to the dark ages. I feel you people haven't grown up and your self centered. I get up set to think it's not enough for you to have an abortion but for the most part it's for selfish reasons. You don't care if a full grown baby is torn apart at birth just like the brain dead people who are tearing dolls apart as they show how sickening they are. That's what democrats always do in my opinion, is take everything to the extreme. So now when I say I don't believe in abortion, it's because there's plenty of contraceptives and no excuse to not use them and I can't, in good conscious hear of a baby being aborted at birth. But then it's the excuse that people in poor neighborhoods wouldn't be able to afford or get them. I feel if they can give needles to druggies than why can't they do the same for the poor? Or if you can wait till birth for an abortion then why can't you give the baby up for adoption? Or why can't you people look for alternatives instead of murdering babies for your own self centered reasons? And Democrat or Republican, if you believe in abortion that's so extreme then your heartless and have seriously lost your moral compass.
McConnell states abortion ban "possible". The repuglican't Taliban seem to believe they have the RITE TO CONTROL WOMEN'S BODIES!! Just like here in Texas, all men and women need to GET OUT AND VOTE or your FREEDOMS AND PRIVACY ARE GOING AWAY.
Hey Repuglican'ts, what's next? Burqas!
Fuck all my state reps, both state and national.

On this Mother’s Day & every day, I’m pro women’s lives with all of our hard decisions that are our decisions & our destinies. Men need to have no vote on this matter. Y'all can ponder all of the times you had unprotected sex causing these decisions. Get tough on men who rape, molest, attack, bully, & abuse women. Men want to police the effect instead of the cause. Step away from our uteri.
Guys, I don't think it would be a good idea to piss off this generation, all ages, of women ...
I heard a strange, unconfirmed story that makes sense.
There are at least 4,000 data brokers (also called information brokers) globally. Data brokers are companies that collect, collate, and sell data. Not just aggregated data but specific data–name, phone number, political affiliations, locations, and addresses.
I confirm some of this. One can simply use whitepages.com and paying for some of the reports they make available. I have friends on coop boards able to confirm financial data. I have learned how to research real estate ownedship records.
People in places like Texas looking to collect Abortion bounties can buy data and, evidently can use it to prove travel to out of state abortion clinics.
There are technical assistance ways to subvert data collection.
The simplest is turning off your cell on the way to obtain health services.

"The activists championing DIY abortions for a post-Roe v Wade world"

The article discusses modern self-managed abortions. In many cases, this set of self-administered set of procedures will render the whole Supreme Court / Red State Fascism/ Ultra Conservative Bruhaha moot.
How many of you pro-abortion activist, have seen a video of an actual abortion? If you have, and you can say that is moral or acceptable, you have no souls. If you can watch that and feel nothing, something is wrong with you.
If you haven't watched an abortion and are pro-abortion, you need to have the guts to watch one and then come tell me how you feel (or don't) about this.

if these bozos are still in office in 2023 then sadly you only have yourselves to blame!
good luck
Those of us who support a woman's choice are really tired of hearing the hypocrisy of the extreme right.
We know they don't really care about "murdering babies". After watching the right spend the last two years killing their neighbors and each other because they refused to wear good masks, get tested, get vaccinated, or avoid crowds, they have no moral superiority. The extreme right doesn't care about human life, they just care about staying in power and abortion is the mechanic they intend to use.
We're not going to listen to their hypocrisy anymore.
Read an interesting statement this morning. If a women has sex with 100 random men, she can only produce one full time pregnancy. If a man has sex with 100 random women, he can produce 100 full time pregnancies. So why are we all against women.
The Supreme Court document was leaked for a couple of reasons, but for the same goal.
1. Distraction. Distraction from the total failures of this administration and to win back voters before the next election. "If you vote Republican, they will take away your rights." Distraction from the Biden corruption and the newly released "2000 Mules" that proves election fraud DID happen in our 2020 Presidential Election.
2. To fire up their base, causing protests and rage, and to intimidate the Justices into not overturning Roe v Wade.
All of this is another political chess move to save their asses. For the few Republicans, conservatives, and Independants on here, please do not allow them to manipulate you. Stay focused on what they have done to this country, their corruption, and the truth being exposed. We can argue all day about why abortion should be illegal with these radical Leftist, but it changes nothing. They want us discussing this issue, rather than focusing on everything else. They will continue to exaggerate and blow this out of proportion. Just like what they called "the don't say gay bill," which was nothing of the sort.
earlier in the week npr reported that new york state was working to liberalize their tele-health laws so that ny doctors could prescribe the abortion pill nation wide. It's also important to note that that medication is readily available (and cheep) on the dark web without a doctors authorization. I was considering working with a non Profit out of Belgium that would work to smuggle this drug into the us and distribute at no cost for those who need it, but that is likely not going to be necessary.
just like prices leah said to the grand moff tarkin: "the tighter your grip, the more systems will slip thru your fingers ".

Child feeding & care costs for Pro-life not just Pro-birth. Doesn't include medical costs for mom or child.
These are the families that more than likely need SNAP ($60B/year), School lunch programs ($262M/year), after school care (27 states spend between $1M-$15M/yr for $27M-$2.6B/year total) cause they have single working mom's, pre-K enrichment ($12B) cause mom is working multiple jobs and kids don't get the 1:1 of a stay at home mom or mom working part-tine

The shame of this Move to Religious Fanatacism is that Abortions for those with little resources will go underground again.
The Zealots want power, it's not about morality or the rights of the unborn.

Contraception lowers the number of abortions more effectively than bans, and it also helps Women’s prevent births they can afford that is paid for by public assistance programs.
According to a 2012 Brookings Institution report, more than 90% of abortions occur due to unintended pregnancy. In the US 50% of all pregnancies are not planned which is higher than other developed countries.
The Contraceptive Choice Project enrolled 9,256 women between 2007 and 2011 and willing to start a new contraceptive method which reduce the rate 62% to 78% (from 13 to 17 per 1,000 to 4.4 to 7.5 per 1,000)
Long acting contraception are more than 99% effective for the typical user versus 91% of women who rely on birth control pills and 82% of those who rely on condoms.
2/3rds of reproductive age women in the US use contraception, 20M+ require public assistance programs to afford that contraception. Approximately 15M use Medicaid, 4M relief on Title X each year, of which 2/3rds have incomes at or below the federal poverty level, 50% are uninsured (even after ACA expansion), 35% have Medicaid coverage or other public programs.
Texas A&M University Study found that when the Texas Legislature cut family planning funding by 2/3rds, ($76M) in 2011 and defunded Planned Parenthood, teen abortions increased 3.1%, births spiked by 3.4% in the following 4 yr resulting in 2,200 teens that would not have given birth if the Legislature hadn’t cut family planning, costing the average taxpayer cost of $27K/birth for an estimated $80 million.

I'm appalled at how the extreme right ignores the high maternal mortality rate in this country while ranting about saving babies. Why can't the right improve healthcare and maternity care first? Isn't it murder to force women to carry a baby if it endangers their lives?
So this makes it seem that if women can't murder their babies, they don't have reporoductive healthcare. 🙄Then proceeds to give different organizations where they can get help, as if overturning this will ban all abortions in all 50 states automatically.
The typical overdramatic response by the Left.
"What do you mean we may not be able to kill our babies?!"
"Women won't have any rights!"
