There is a strong correlation between crime and drugs.  Legalizing this will not solve this problem.  Marijuana is merely a gateway drug that will send increasingly more people to use stronger drugs.  Democrats support this because it will allow them to control the population.

We need to start enforcing our laws and making these crimes result in stronger penalties.  Any person who engages in giving or selling to a minor, or using Marijuana on school grounds should be subjected to a minimal 20 years hard labor with no possibility of parole at a minimum.

Please vote to decrimininalize marijuana and to expunge past convictions. Push for decriminalization of all controlled substances to prioritize treatment access  and public safety over punishment.

It's ridiculous that marijuana is still federally illegal.

Cannabis has many non-drug-related as well as medical uses. If made legal it could be taxed as cigarettes and alcohol are. Personally, I'd much rather be around someone who was smoking cannabis as opposed to someone drunk on alcohol. Alcohol has no positive benefits and people die every day from drunk drivers. It seems like if one should be illegal it would be more beneficial to illegalize alcohol than it would be to keep cannabis illegal.
