Senate Returns for Votes on Judicial Nominations as House Continues Recess

How do you feel about this week’s congressional schedule?

The upcoming Judicial Votes provide Sen. McConnell an opportunity to illustrate what happens if Fillibuster is removed. A string of quorum calls, procedural motions and actions that require all 50 Senators from Democrat side be present would keep the Senators in Washington and not Georgia. Use the rules to slow the pace and a probable switch in Senate control is 10 months and some days away.

We need a “functional “ 2 party system for things to work as they should. The GOP has been overrun. Our system is being undone by the underlying racism the nation was built on. You now, as a result, have people in power that would destroy it all rather than share it with “the rest of the nation.” There is no alliance for “the good of the nation” currently. The GOP is simply an obstructionist party in a war of “us against them.”

Way too much horsing around. Get busy. Republicans shut up and approve these people. Then let's hear about tax reform. WHY is there no tax reform? Why is there no election reform? Why are we just proceeding like everything is totally normal. It is not normal for Representatives serving real Americans to be influenced by the wealthy and corporations. This is so far away from the Constitution it is unAmerican. End Citizens United now. This is what a majority of real people what. No one cares what your corporate masters want. They are a tiny, tiny little piece of the country. Get this fixed now. And stop giving the free-loaders MORE of my hard earned money.

I’m glad the senate is working on judicial nominations, but these need to be done on a bipartisan and reasonable way. We shouldn’t be asking hypotheticals and doing thing to score cheap political points. They should look at their qualifications and if the judges are qualified then they need to confirm them quickly with an up or down vote.

Dear Sen. Kane, Now that you have been stuck on 95, maybe you will do something about that part of 95 which is clogged and crazy on a good day. Also, can’t anyone do anything about the abysmal state of snow removal in this state? Virginia gets snow every year, it’s about time they learn how to deal with it. Thank you

Yep, looks like it’s canceled. Still not seeing it in the major feeds, though. Trump Cancels Press Conference Scheduled for January 6 https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-cancels-press-conference-scheduled-capitol-insurrection-anniversary-2022-1 UPDATE: Instead of whining at an underwhelmingly covered press conference, Trump will hold a Cry Baby Rally on January 15th in Arizona.

So trump now cancels his Jan 6 Mar-a-Loco conference after Jan 6th House Committee asks Hannity to testify about all of his texts/stuff with the White House before and on the day of the insurrection. I guess trump has run out of people to have on stage with him that haven't said/wrote something that makes him look bad. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😁😁😁😁😁😁😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 ... Is Messaging The Problem? It's 8:00pm and you're watching cable news. Are you watching Tucker, Anderson or Chris? If you're watching, say, Tucker, how will anything reported or anyone interviewed by Anderson or Chris make a difference? @eireprof has nailed down an excellent Progressive Message: Pause student loan repayments and interest through 2022. Provide Medicare for All. Pass Build Back Better. Eliminate the filibuster. Abolish the Electoral College. Tax the rich. Enacting these items will certainly benefit the _vast_ majority. Polling data supports the notion that most Americans support one or more of these items. Yet the folks on the Right apparently reject such an agenda out of hand. Fact is that the Right proposes squat. It just uses grievance and falsehoods to gin up its adherents. It works for some for some bizarre reason. So, no its not that the Right has a better message. It does not. But maybe the Democrats do need their own special blend of whiners, finger pointers, blamers and ass kickers. In 1922, Soviet Union became the first country in the world to legalize abortion. The state note that punishing women and doctors for abortion had “no positive results”. It drives the operation underground and make women victims of greedy and ignorant abortionists who profit from this secrecy or back alley operation. The government realized in society, men and women must in have equal rights and opportunity in everything, employment, health and education. They saw it as an individual right than “an evil”. By doing this gave women equal footing, opportunities and control their future and happiness!

I hope it doesn’t take a disaster (like the snow storm that disabled DC) to make the importance of passing the BBB bill as clear as how important passing the infrastructure bill was.

Here’s a comment I found interesting by a French writer, Édouard Louis which he made in an interview. “Édouard Louis is famous for his works portraying the daily humiliations of working-class life. In an interview, he explains how our rulers avoid responsibility for their decisions — while blaming the rest of us for how we cope with the consequences.” I think comment is worth considering for anyone who is bewildered and concerned by how many people, educated or not, have embraced the idea that Trump and others of his ilk such as Taylor-Greene, Cawthorn, and Brooks are the answer to the problems of our country and that January 6 was anything but an orchestrated insurrection. “And if the far right are the only people offering a space in which people feel they can say “I’m suffering,” in which their suffering will get a hearing, then they will head in that direction. Because we are all looking for ways to say what we are living through and what we are, what we feel.” I think the Democrats would do well to consider this comment and drill down talk about the impact of their efforts as though they are in one-on-one conversations in which they ask questions and explain answers that express how their efforts address the day-to-day concerns of not just people who are in the lowest socioeconomic level, but the working class as a whole - how their policies directly address the grievances that seduced otherwise intelligent people to the fantasies spun for them by the likes of Tucker Carlton and Sean Hannity. I single out the Democrats because the Republicans have, in my opinion, effectively done just that but weaponized those grievances toward particular out-groups (or groups we don’t want to believe we could join by labeling them lazy or stupid victims of bad choices) rather than those in the aristocracy that has developed from increasing income inequality, the desire for power, and buying congressional influence with campaign donations.

This is just another example from the ‘blue states’ on how out of touch they are with reality. California has droves of people leaving because of the chaos the left continues to create. Nothing like glorifying those for poor performance! Why should we be surprised?! Let’s spread that poor performance nationally.

Here are the latest Coronavirus figures since January 20th at noontime to present 346 days. This is with 3 vaccines since day one. Cases 30,768,039 new cases yesterday 635,320. Deaths 551,055 new deaths yesterday 280. President Trump had in one full year these. Cases 24,717,808 Deaths 274,761. Comrade dear leader Beijing Biden told us during the campaign that every coronavirus death is the total responsibility of the President and no one else. Then as President Trump hit the 200,000 deaths you said that no person should remain in office with that many deaths on his hands. Comrade you have now hit 551,055 deaths since you got in office and you still are President? As you use to said on the campaign trail, that there are now 551,055 families sitting at the dining room table looking at that empty chair. Yet you leave the border wide open with no testing or quarantine or vaccines.

You should notice that neither chamber is bringing the committees to meet to work on the budget or an CR. Comrade Nancy isn’t even bring here house back from vacation until next week where there are no plans to do anything. Of course as we get to next month and we are at the end of the budget money the democrats will blame it on the Republicans for not raising the national debt limit
