Capitol Police Say They Are Ready for ‘Justice for J6’ Rally

What’s The Story?

  • A ”Justice for J6” rally will be held at Union Square in front of the U.S. Capitol on Saturday. Attendees plan to protest the arrests of more than 600 people in connection to the capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021.
  • The rally was organized by Look Ahead America, a self-proclaimed “non-partisan” organization founded by Matt Braynard, a Trump campaign staffer and former analyst for the Republican Party. Braynard has stated that he condemns all the violence that occurred on "J6," but that he is advocating on behalf of protestors he believes have been charged unjustly.

Is law enforcement ready?

  • A Department of Homeland Security official has said they expect about 700 people to attend. According to some experts, it is unlikely the event will reach the same levels of participation as the J6riot.
  • DHS has said they have taken steps to ensure Capitol police are better prepared than they were on January 6, including erecting temporary fencing. A request for 100 D.C. National Guard troops for additional support was approved on Friday; they will be stationed nearby at the D.C. Armory and deployed only upon request.

Trump's take

  • Former President Donald Trump released a statement on Thursday in support of the protestors and continued to peddle the lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him, an argument disputed by his own Attorney General William Barr and the Justice Department, who have found no evidence of widespread fraud.
  • Trump also stated in an interview on Thursday that the rally was a “setup” for Republicans, and that media outlets would use the event as an excuse to make them look bad regardless of its outcome.

    I believe they are getting a, mostly, free ride for what they did! A slap on the hand, at best, is what most received! Is our justice system still under the Dump’s purview or what? With sentences so absolutely meager, I wonder.

With this loser Trump doesn’t realize is the Twitter is a business And they can do business with whoever they want or not do business with whoever they want.     HELL NO! Sr citizen served in military and love this country even though it sometimes does not love me back! NO ONE NO ONE NO ONE should ever be allowed to affect governmental functions and especially the acts to certify elections and/or transfer power to a duly elected potus!!!!!!!! Doing so in any manner(support or condoning such acts) is TREASON/BETRAYAL of America and frankly should merit execution, less than that is a mockery of justice. white supremacy deserves no safe harbor or concessions! Remember ALL the lies, rioting, and fear were to void the votes of Black/Brown voters in Atlanta GA Detroit MI Milwaukee WI/wississippi and Philadelphia PA, PERIOD! While racism wasn’t birthed in America, it has reigned from the constitution up to the present day. I would actually prefer public lynchings as was done to Blacks in true American style!

They wanted to kill the vice president and harm Congress. They were attempting to stop Joe Biden who was chosen by the American people to be president, to lawfully take his seat. I feel they need to go to jail and be punished for the crimes they did on January 6.     I know this is hard to believe but it’s true! Donald Trump threatened to exert executive privilege to stop the investigation into the capital riot! You read that right, Trump doesn’t realize that he’s no longer the president and cannot exercise any executive privilege or perhaps he is too stupid to know that. Or - Is absolutely insane and thinks he’s the king of the world. Trump time after time displays what a loser an idiot he truly is. (ie: Remember trumps cure to shove lights up yourself to cure Covid!) You have to wonder what it is that he could possibly not want the world to know about his involvement or lack of Any attempt to stop it once it started. I guess we’re about to find out what that was being that Biden is rightfully going to let it go public.
