Investigation Finds New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Sexually Harassed Multiple Women
Should the New York Assembly impeach Gov. Andrew Cuomo?
What’s the story?
- Independent investigators appointed by New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Tuesday that they concluded their investigation into Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and found he sexually harassed multiple women, including current and former state employees, by engaging in unwanted physical contact and making inappropriate comments.
- The investigation, led by attorneys Anne Clark and Joon Kim, began in March 2021 after several women came forward with allegations that they were sexually harassed by Cuomo. In their 168-page report which was based on interviews with 179 people ― including 11 accusers ― investigators found that the governor’s office fostered a “toxic” workplace that enabled “harassment to occur and created a hostile work environment.” Kim explained at a press conference:
“Some suffered through unwanted touching, and grabbing of their most intimate body parts. Others suffered through repeated offensive, sexually suggestive, or gender-based comments. A number of them endured both. None of them welcomed it. And all of them found it disturbing, humiliating, uncomfortable and inappropriate.”
- Investigators found that Cuomo’s actions and those of his office violated multiple state and federal laws, in addition to the executive chamber’s written policies. Additionally, they found that Cuomo and his staff engaged in illegal retaliation against at least one woman who complained about Cuomo’s behavior.
- James noted Cuomo may face criminal charges if local prosecutors choose to pursue them, and could also face civil lawsuits, but that the role of the AG’s office in the matter effectively concluded with the release of the report.
- The New York State Assembly has an ongoing inquiry into whether grounds exist for Cuomo to be impeached, and the conclusions of the AG’s investigation is reportedly expected to play a “critical” role in whether that moves forward.
- New York lawmakers are also considering impeachment over Cuomo’s use of state resources in writing his book about leadership during a pandemic; special access Cuomo relatives received to COVID-19 testing; and his administration’s suppression of data related to nursing home deaths due to COVID-19.

Atty. Rita Glavin just had a press conference and made MANY salient points about discrepancies in the AG's report about Gov. Cuomo.....I am currently listening to Gov. Cuomo's press conference. He is resigning, effective in 14 days. This is what class looks like....I wish him well, I will miss him and I believe, so will our country. Gov. Cuomo's daily press conferences during the early bad days of the pandemic were a like a lighthouse on stormy seas...He brought DAILY comfort and sanity to a very dark and insane time. It was unfortunate, that we did not get that caring, comfort and leadership from the sometime occupant of our White House....I will be forever grateful to Gov. Cuomo for this.
He’s guilty! He should leave hat office while there is some iota of self respect left!
As awful as this is just in the backdrop you have Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis today stating that teachers may not be paid in schools and not get any funding if they mandate masks! This is in a state with COVID-19 variance are out of control record numbers of children in hospitals record numbers of adults in hospitals dying. DeSantis should be recalled and put on trial for manslaughter. Man is nothing more than a disgusting pig.
I’d consider myslef a democrat but to ignore this revelation of cuomo’s behavior with women and sexual assault founded by the NY AG, it would baffle me why anyone epically on the left would try defending him.
He should resign.
He must be forced to resign. Along with Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh Matt gaetz and the rest of the deviants.
@Freethinker, all of Democratic leadership has called on Cuomo to resign over these allegations, so again please tell me where there's hypocrisy? And the nursing home issue is completely separate; you can talk about that if you want, but that has nothing to do with "Believe all women". I'm still not sure what part VP Harris has to play, other than your constant need to criticize her for some reason.
Yes he should be impeached. This man has been given way too much power in New York State. And how can we forget what he did to the nursing homes, when the virus he sent people who had it to nursing homes and killed thousands of people. The man thinks he’s bigger than God. He’s self centered he is eager testicle, and thinks he’s above the law, he believes the laws for everyone else and not him. He should be forced out of office, that’s the only way he will be taken out. Remember he has a great deal of power. It’s going to be a hard job to get him out but our government must do so.
If there is proof that Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, then he should be impeached. You have to ask yourself if someone who has such little respect for other humans is qualified to lead people.
If they didn't impeach Trump for the same thing, why go after a Governor. Both should be in jail.
Yes they should immediately, and then the next thing they should do is rest Donald Trump for rape which is fighting tooth and nail to avoid charges us.
Along with the (T)Dumpster Fire, Gates, Kavanaugh, Jordan……..etc., etc.
Remove from office- J.Edger Hoover has past to another Life. Send to Therapy on his dime. Disbarment from Politics & send to work farm environment to contribute on a farm. Also his brother for being dishonest to Americans.
Robert P: If I apply your trumpublican logic to the Cuomo case, I must conclude that since the AG did not file charges we must all climb the nearest hillside and loudly proclaim that Cuomo has been ‘totally exonerated’. … … … I agree with everyone who says that it sure appears that he is guilty. Unfortunately, in democratic society following the rule of law, we must not find anyone guilty if they have not at least been offered an opportunity to defend themselves in a court of law or a court of impeachment. … … … Evidence based on how someone feels about another’s actions or what they felt that their intent was for saying or doing what they said or did are quite difficult to properly ascertain if you only have one side of the story from one person or even a group of individual people with little to no corroborating evidence. Ever talk to friends who are getting divorced? Listening to one side or the other gives you two heavily biased diametrically opposite perspectives - and that is what a court is supposed to be good at sorting out. Without hard facts, such as offering pay raises or new positions in return for sexual favors, bragging about his conquests, or specific punishment clearly related to not responding to advances, I find it hard just accept what someone says about how they feel or what a group collectively says they feel after they have had time to share their feelings and can find motivations that match. … … … A pregnant engineer where I worked filed a sexual harassment charge because a male co-worker asked her how she was feeling -arguing that she felt that he would not have asked this of his male co-workers. This was ridiculous, but still required an office investigation and blemished his record for just trying to be nice. … … … Most of women that I know are quite reasonable people who can clearly tell the difference between a sexual advance or a friendly gesture, a slip of the tongue or an overtly inappropriate comment and can make their displeasure with someone’s behavior clearly understood. Unfortunately there are some others who cannot or will not. I have no basis from which to judge which group these accusers fit in, even though there is a group and not a single person. Another reason for guilt to be determined in a court where the veracity of the plaintiffs and defendants can each be assessed by a jury. … … … Politically, I would agree that it is probably best for Cuomo to resign - but that is not an admission of guilt; it is a recognition of the realities of our f’d up politics.
Obviously he should be impeached but who knows if that will happen. Cuomo seems to know where all the dirt is buried as he fights for his own political life. It will be interesting to see this play out.
sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, if impeachment was good enough Donald Trump's misdeeds then, it's good enough for Cuomo too otherwise we're just republicans also
Get rid of him!
I refuse to publicly convict someone of harassment crimes based on one side of the story. The evidence is highly weighted by how women felt about someone’s actions toward them and what they believe were his intentions - and I feel that in cases like this, the accused has a right to defend themselves before they are convicted. I am absolutely not condoning sexual harassment by anyone at anytime but I believe that they have a right to defend themselves in an actual court before passing judgement. This is not like the trump being recorded bragging about grabbing women by their privates - that is really clear. … … … I am admittedly somewhat jaded because I have seen male friend’s careers ruined by nonsense allegations by women who wanted to get even or avoid getting fired for not doing their work. In one case, the women was under psychiatric care and being treated with experimental drugs and had several cases of engaging in public sex, but none of that was permitted to referenced in any of the hearings. Allegations such as these, even if unproven, makes it legally risky to keep a person in a ‘people-managing’ position and he lost his job. … … … In another case a couple of waitresses complained that two other waitresses were skimming tips. The manager watched, caught them - and then took them off of dinner rotation for a week. They retaliated by putting sugar in his gas tank as well the other waitresses - they were seen on security video and he fired them. They then charged him with sexual harassment and carried the case to the local TV investigative news team who led their segment for months with their dogged truth scrounging investigative reporter shoving a microphone in his face asking him why he did it as the poor guy was waving them off and closing the oversized wooden entry doors behind him. He was never found guilty of anything, but lost his reputation and his business because he was tried in public and never even given a chance to defend himself in public. … … … So I try not to endorse public hangings based on what people felt or believed unless their is clear factual evidence to support wrong doing. This needs to be addressed legally in court to at least give Cuomo a chance to defend himself.
With regard to Andrew Cuomo, you can't defend him and his actions when there's a track record of bad behavior. I dont think his actions were anywhere near as bad as some politicians who were allowed to remain in power but I do think the State of NY can do better and should vote to impeach. That said, I don't think the US could have survived the pandemic without Cuomo keeping a cool head throughout all of it with his daily reports and detailed information on what the hell was going on. This was during a time where Trump was way off the deep end and it was refreshing to see someone step up to the plate and carry us through. Do I think that gives Cuomo a pass on treating women in the state capitol with disrespect? No. It's still not ok. Sucks when people shoot themselves in the foot and tarnish an otherwise sparkling legacy. Let's get someone else that doesn't treat women like objects, yeah? Glad we had this talk.
I don’t believe the governor did anything wrong. If he’s running again I will vote for him because he is a good governor so I don’t care what y’all think about that. I called governor como for help for the metro rail in my home city Buffalo Ny for a expansion project for Buffalo metro rail, and he put money for the expansion project. So I owe him a lots of votes, and also I only vote for Democrats only thanks!
