Senate Joins House on Spring Recess
How do you feel about this week’s congressional schedule (or lack thereof)?
What’s happening in Congress?
- The halls of the Capitol will be quieter this week as the Senate adjourned on Thursday to join the House on spring recess.
- Both chambers of Congress are expected to remain out of session this week and next so that lawmakers can observe Easter and Passover at home and attend to other work in their districts.
- No committee hearings, virtual or otherwise, are scheduled to occur this week.
HOUSE
- No votes are expected this week. The House is expected to return for floor business on Tuesday, April 12th.
- Pro forma sessions are scheduled for Monday, March 29th and Thursday, April 1st.
SENATE
- No votes are expected this week. The Senate is expected to return for floor business on Monday, April 11th.
- Pro forma sessions are scheduled for Monday, March 29th and Thursday, April 1st.
- When the Senate returns for floor work, it’s expected to consider the nomination of Polly Trottenberg to be Deputy Secretary of Transportation.
