Should Democrats Call Witnesses During Trump's Impeachment Trial?
Should the Dems call witnesses at Trump's impeachment trial?
What's the story?
- Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), the outgoing chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is warning against calling witnesses during President Donald Trump's impeachment trial.
- Appearing on Fox News Monday night, Graham said that Democrats would be "opening a can of worms" if they were to call even a single witness at the trial, which is scheduled to commence February 9th.
- "If you open that can of worms, we’ll want the FBI to come in and tell us about how people pre-planned this attack and what happened with the security footprint at the Capitol," Graham said.
"You open up Pandora's Box if you call one witness."
- The House has already impeached the president on one count of "incitement of insurrection."
- “The second impeachment of Donald Trump is not wearing well over time. Democrats are in a box,” Graham said in his interview.
