Trump: ‘I Will Not Be Going to the Inauguration’
Should Trump attend Biden's Inaguration?
What's the story?
- President Donald Trump announced Friday that he will not attend President-Elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
- Trump's remarks come one day after he conceded the November 3 election following a riot by a pro-Trump mob at the Capitol.
“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th."
- Trump is not the first outgoing president to skip an inauguration: Presidents John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and Andrew Johnson all avoided the swearing-in of their successor.
