The Georgia General Assembly is considering three important pieces of legislation that would help address the state’s fight against HIV and AIDS.
Should these bills pass, schools will provide students up-to-date statistics on HIV and AIDS, Georgians would have a streamlined process in medication access, and a needle-exchange program would be installed to help prevent future infections.
At GLAAD, we know the only way to beat HIV and AIDS is by educating the public and investing in key resources aimed at finding a cure. That’s why we’re asking you to sign this petition and urge the Georgia General Assembly to pass the policies that could wipe out HIV transmissions in a generation.
With anti-LGBTQ activists trying to roll back progress every turn, these policies will be a welcomed step in the ongoing fight to achieve full LGBTQ acceptance in the state of Georgia.
