Members of Congress

Fewer than 500 Black-Winged Mynas remain in the wild in Indonesia, but each year more of the songbirds are captured and sold as pets. In principle, the Black-Winged Myna should be covered by the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) treaty, but the CITES treaty often lags behind emerging science and the latest species' counts, putting hundreds of species at tremendous risk of extinction.

In order to save the Black-Winged Myna, and hundreds of other species, we must propose changes to the CITES treaty that will allow the endangered species list to be updated more frequently and in accordance with the best available science.

Add your name to ask Members of Congress to update the CITES treaty and save hundreds of species, including the Black-Winged Myna from extinction.

Signed,
