How to do this

Complete these steps by August 20

  1. 1

REDUCE the amount of waste you create on a daily basis. Use reusable (metal) water bottles and coffee cups. Use reusable bags at stores. Buy groceries in bulk to reduce package waste. Cut down on food waste.

  2. 2

REUSE the items you purchase instead of buying new. Repurpose or fix broken items instead of tossing them in the trash. Donate items to thrift stores and churches that you no longer use or need.

  3. 3

RECYCLE everything you can and ONLY the items that can currently be recycled in your area. Create a compost for your food waste. Buy aluminum cans instead of glass or plastic bottles, so that they can be recycled. Educate yourself on how to properly sort your recyclables. Contamination can lead to an entire recycling bin ending up in the landfill! Keep up to date by liking the county recycling Facebook page and checking out the county website often!
