Sign the Petition to

Ram Nath Kovind President of India

Dear Ram Nath Kovind,

I want to help the tiger species grow and help them not go into extinction. I want to educate the Indian population about how close this species is to extinction and provide stronger punishments. If the tiger goes extinct, a very important natural way of regulating the population of herbivores will be lost and the ecosystem will surely suffer for that. The wildlife tourism industry in various countries, especially India will also suffer.

Of the original nine subspecies of tigers, three have become extinct in the last 80 years an average of one every 20 years. It has been predicted all tigers may become extinct in the wild within the next decade. Poaching and habitat loss have reduced the global population of tigers from over 100,000 in the 1900′s, to less than 4,000 in the 1970′s. Firstly tigers support livelihood, tourism is the world’s biggest industry. On the ecotour front, the tiger is a star attraction for not just the Indian tourists but also for the people coming from other countries. Secondly, the tiger is an umbrella species. The tiger protects many other animals by keeping the ecosystem balanced. A properly planned tiger conservation plan is actually a plan to protect and save large number of species. Thirdly the tiger is a symbol of National Pride. This is what India.gov.in said. The tiger represents strength and bravery in many countries.

The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem. It is a top predator which is at the apex of the food chain and keeps the population of wild ungulates in check, thereby maintaining the balance between prey herbivores and the vegetation upon which they feed. Therefore, the presence of tigers in the forest is an indicator of the well-being of the ecosystem. The extinction of this top predator is an indication that the ecosystem is in danger. If the tigers go extinct, the entire system would collapse. If Ram Nath Kovind puts more acts in place to protect the Tigers the population will grow, and the ecosystem will stabilize.
There are so many reasons to why we should help the tigers some include. Tigers supports Livelihood, Tigers Protects Genetic Diversity, Tigers Prevent Climate Change and The Tiger is a symbol of our National Pride. Ram Nath Kovind is in a perfect position to make serious changes to the current laws as President of India he can influence a global change in the way we see Tigers. It is his responsibility to act as two thirds of the remaining population of Tigers are in India. So, I Riley Glasgow am writing this to hopefully influence you to influence others to look after the tiger.

Yours sincerely,
Riley Glasgow

By requesting tougher laws in place to protect tiger's others will be educated about the serious consequences that follow if the Tiger Species goes extinct. Those that don't even know about the issue will help.

Ram Nath Kovind is in an ideal position to make serious changes to the current laws as President of India he can influence a global view on tigers and change the way we see them.

The more names mean the better chance of people noticing the petition. Change won't happen by itself, for this to happen the word needs to be spread and actions need to be made.
