Open to City of Danville & Pittsylvania County Residents ONLY

The Wendell Scott Foundation has done great things in the City of Danville to carry on the legacy of determination, fearlessness and ingenuity that Wendell Scott left behind. It has been a long standing dream of ours to have welcome signs dedicated to Wendell Scott at the entrance/exit points of Danville, showing how proud the city is of their native son. Help us garner support by getting Danville residents to sign our petition by November 6th, 2017.

Wendell Oliver Scott was born and raised in Danville, Virginia, the last capital of the Confederacy, a fact that is significant to his development and legacy as the first African American race car driver to win the Grand National, NASCAR's highest level. " The idea of displaying "The Home of Wendell Scott" proudly at every entrance into the city of Danville was his very own as early as the '60" Wendell Scott Jr.

We will take all our signatures before the City Council in hopes of designating official funds to erect the signs.
