Dear Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, Minister for the Environment and Energy

Dear Hon Josh Frydenberg
I would like to reduce the impacts of Climate change with can affect sea levels, weather patterns and could cause the extinction of plant and animal species.

Climate change is a really big problem right now. It is negatively affecting the earth's delicate ecosystems. I believe you are in an excellent position to implement changes through the government to reduce the use of fossil fuels in our country for the greater good. Making these changes is the only way we can stop climate change.

This campaign is important because people will look at this information and become more aware of the issues surrounding climate change that impact us all. Without action extreme weather events such as droughts, fires, cyclones, hurricanes and other such events will become more frequent and extreme and ocean level risings will impact all nations of the world, with some low level nations taking the threat of completely disappearing.

We all need to make changes now as individuals and as nations and you as the Minister for Environment and Energy can make stronger laws for stopping emissions that cause damage to our planet.
Droughts are due to increased heat and reduced moisture over prolonged periods of time. As the climate warms, experts estimate drought conditions may increase by 66 percent. Severe droughts are expected in Europe, but Africa will receive the worst of it. Less rainfall is also likely in mid-latitude and subtropical arid and semi-arid regions

As long-term heat dries out the land, the Earth will experience endless wildfires increasing in magnitude and frequency with each degree of temperature increase.

Australia is already feeling the effects of climate change. Every decade since the 1970s has been warmer than the last. 2013 was Australia’s hottest year on record; 2015 the fifth hottest, while eight of the 10 warmest years on record have occurred since 2002.

Do you now about the ice shelves on Greenland and Antarctica melt, sea levels could become more than 10-20 feet higher (3-6 meters) by 2100 than they are today? This would flood low-lying areas such as New York City's Lower Manhattan, Miami, and Bangladesh. This sea level rise would also be perilous for many low-elevation countries and inhabited islands.
This is important because climate change can negatively affect the earth's delicate ecosystems. It has been linked to dying coral reefs, rise in word place dangerous new weather patterns and the extinction of plant and animal species.

It is essential that Australia takes a stronger stand and reduces its part for our world.

It’s time to get serious. This is not only about saving the planet, it’s about saving a way of life. That way of life is already inadequate for so many, but it will get worse if sea levels rise, climate change increases, coral reefs die, plastic volumes outweigh those of marine life and plastic enters into our food supplies, and reduced biodiversity means less chances for scientific learnings and I want a better future for generations and generations after that I don’t want this next generation to suffer and live on a desert planet and barley survive….. No!!! That’s not going to happen we the people have to make some sort stand and make civilization hear what we,re trying to do to stop climate change!!!!

Please support my campaign and help Australia to do its part for our world.

Yours sincerely,
Blake Cameron-Gien

Asking our Minister for the Environment and Energy to

review our use of fossil fuels could help the issue to be put in the spotlight and it could then gain momentum so that change can occur.

The time is now and the
urgency is real to transition from conventional energy resources and move to an economy that promotes safe, accessible and sustainable energy that builds real financial incentives for large scale investment. Josh Frydenberg, as minister for this portfolio, is in the position to represent what the people want to do to change the impacts of climate change.

We're demanding that our
government respects the science and aims higher on climate change. I'm asking for strong, meaningful climate action, which is in the national and global interest.  If you sign my petition it will help the government understand how important this is.
