CEO of United Airlines, Oscar Munoz

United Airlines has a ridiculous policy of overbooking flights, which is ultimately better for their bottom line, but is terrible for their customers.

This policy went horribly wrong on a recent flight when airport authorities violently dragged an elderly man from his seat when he refused to get off the plane. As per usual United had overbooked the flight, so when no one volunteered to give up their seats, they randomly picked the 69-year-old doctor. Videos from other passengers show that after he refused to leave the plane, authorities proceeded to pull him so hard that he hit his face on an armrest and started bleeding. Then they dragged him down the aisle and off the plane.

This is absolutely horrifying. United should have known better than to have handled this situation so violently. The policy of overbooking needs to be changed immediately so that situations with paying customers do not devolve into unnecessary violence. United Airlines, we've had enough!

A Better America
