Sign the Petition to

United States Congress

We the undersigned demand that United States Congress immediately pass comprehensive legislation that bans the sale of semi-automatic, high capacity magazine rifles in America.

Our streets, schools, movie theaters, restaurants, stores, centers of worship, and neighborhoods are no place for lethal weapons built for the battlefield. These are guns designed to kill as many people as fast as possible. And that's what they are doing.

As Americans we have the right to live safely, and in peace. But as long as AR15s and other assault-style rifles are as easy to buy as a toaster, we won't be safe anywhere we go.

We demand immediate action to reinstate the 1994 federal ban on assault-style rifles and remove them from our society once and for all.

Signed,

Military assault-style rifles are too dangerous to be on the streets of America. They were used in the shooting in Dallas, at the Pulse Night Club in Orlando, Florida, and in San Bernardino, California.

But these were just the latest tragedies that involved powerful semi-automatic weapons built for the battlefield.

An AR-15 was used to kill nine people at Umpqua Community College in Oregon in October.

It was also the weapon used in the murders of 12 people at a Colorado movie theater in 2012.

An AR-15 was also used in the 2012 murders of 20 first graders and six adults in Newtown, Connecticut.

We could go on, and on, and on.

As long as AR15s and other assault-style rifles are as easy to buy as a toaster, Americans won't be safe anywhere they go.

Congress knew enough to ban these weapons in 1994, in response to a growing number of mass murders involving semi-automatic rifles.

But the National Rifle Association eventually lobbied Congress to cancel that ban.

And now, look at the result!

So please sign and share this vital petition calling for the permanent removal of these weapons from our society.
