Ian Mcleod, CEO of Coles Australia

Dear Ian Mcleod,

I want Coles to stop supplying products that have palm oil in them. The palm oil industry is having a huge impact on the orang-utan species and this action is important for the future of orangtuns. It will support my campaign by showing the palm oil companies that it isn’t acceptable to be using palm oil.

Did you know that orang-utans are nearly extinct? It’s because Orang-utans are losing their habitat due to the clearing forests and being treated cruelly and inhumanely by those who are involved in the palm oil industry. Deforestation has a massive impact on their survival because forestry workers cut down trees and kill anything in their way.

This action needs to happen for the survival of orang-utans and if you stop buying palm oil products from its producers they will realise that people in Australia think what they’re doing is incredibly wrong. Less demand for the product means they will decrease the amount of deforestation that they are doing, which would save wildlife, including the much loved orang-utan.

You need to take action as soon as possible, as we are losing trees and orang-utans fast. You can make a difference and say NO to palm oil. Since you have the power to stop buying palm oil products and supplying them to the public, I recommend you stop because before it’s too late for the orang-utan.

Yours sincerely,
Jeremy Williamson

I am requesting this action because it will show the palm oil industry that we are not happy with deforestation and the deaths of Orang-utans and other species.  It will help the issue by showing that we do not tolerate this. Ian Mcleod can make a change because he has the power to decide what products coles will and will not supply to consumers. It is important because it shows Ian Mcleod how important this issue actually is.
