Bob Byrne – Head of The department of Agriculture

As the leader of the royal society for the prevention on the cruelty to animals in Australia I believe that you need to review the number of animal abuse reports as well as the amount of funding given to the RSPCA. When you see the discrepancy between the two figures you will see the need for increased funding for the RSPCA to support its animals and employees.
The funding is desperately needed as the rate of animal neglect and abuse is on the rise meaning we do need more RSPCA officers in the field protecting these pets. More staff must be hired to take care of the animals that are found or taken from homes and to pay for repairs and new equipment for the RSPCA.
Increased funding will address the increasing rate of animal abuse with more officers to monitor and respond to the reports of abuse, you can reduce the effect of this problem. To the animals in a better conditions will give them a higher chance of adoption. Funding should be allocated for the education and awareness campaigns. Preventions is better than a cure.
If you take your responsibility seriously they must get an increased payout. The RSPCA makes 99% of its own money from donations and fundraising, and profit when selling some of the animals to owners.
With more money the ways RSPCA will benefit are limitless, the RSPCA NSW needs $43 million dollars each year to maintain 10 shelters 4 vet hospitals and 32 inspectors on the road saving lives while your government is only funding them with 1-2% of the funds needed to support this great organisation. You are the only person that can really make a difference to thousands of pets being abused every year. If you really want to help these animals then please increase the amount funded each year to this desperate cause.

Signed,

Kai Foots

If this request is successful the RSPCA will have the funds to support more animals, along with more staff to help take cares of the animals and get them adopted. With more patrol officers to prevent and deter people from committing these foul acts of animal abuse. The government could easily double almost triple the budget that the RSPCA receives from them. The amount the RSPCA needs every year is 99% more of what the Government contributes. The more names of this petition, there is more pressure on the minister to see that people really do want to this happen.
