Tell the U.S. Dept. of Labor you support equal pay!

Last year, women working full time, year round made an average of $10,876 less than their male counterparts. It's time to close the wage gap, and a key step toward doing that is to uncover pay discrepancies. That's why I support the Department of Labor's proposed rule requiring contractors to collect and report wage data by gender, race, and ethnicity.

President Obama thought this issue was important enough to issue an executive order. I'm so glad you think it's just as important, and will consider my feedback.

Thank you for doing this great work to help eliminate pay discrimination.

Signed,

President Obama called on the Department of Labor to issue a rule to require federal contractors (which employ more than 20 percent of the United States workforce) to report information on what they pay their employees, by gender, race and ethnicity. This rule will improve enforcement of the pay discrimination laws and increase voluntary employer compliance with those laws.

Here's our chance to tell the Department of Labor why collecting compensation data on gender, race, and ethnicity is important. Take action toward eliminating pay discrimination. Leave a comment today.
