We are petitioning the members of the New York State Legislature in Albany, New York.

Dear Member of the New York State Legislature,
The State Legislature has the authority to change each of the two statues representing the state of New York in National Statuary Hall in the United States Capitol. The current statues representing New York are Robert Livingston placed in the Capitol in 1875 and George Clinton placed in the Capitol in 1873. This petition requests that one of these of two statues with a statue of Eleanor Roosevelt. A orphan who never went to college, Roosevelt redefined the role of the First Lady and was a champion of women's rights and the underprivileged. No public monies will for the creation of the statue.

Signed,

Lynette Long
