Complete these steps by January 1
Tell a friend, family member, coworker, classmate, neighbor, etc about the death of millions of unwanted pets.
After reading this and after telling your friend, please continue to be aware that there are too many pets in the USA. So next time you want a pet, please adopt from a pound or shelter or help a stray. Please never breed your animals!! Especially not for profit...
(Optional) look into animal sterilization programs, animal rescue programs or look into shelters or pounds where you can volunteer or donate. Volunteering is preferred (;

Dogs and cats suffer just as we do. They feel pain and have emotions, they can feel lonely when left and pain when they're put down. However, people keep bringing these animals into the world, but it seems we can't care for them all.
Wolves and wild cats were domesticated over an extensive amount of time by human beings. In a way, we have created the cat and dog. It is now our duty to note the position these animals are in: millions of cats and dogs are being abandoned and being killed. Millions of unwanted pets are gassed in chambers (like the lonely dog in the picture) or euthanized, or maybe disposed in other ways that I am not aware of.
What we can do now is recognize this problem and spread the word to others. If you or someone you know has a pet, make sure to have them fixed so they can never escape and add to the number of unwanted pets. If you can, go the extra mile and see to strays in your area that need to be fixed. That would be very much appereciated. And the next time you're thinking about having your cat have kittens so your family can experience the miracle of birth, please think and realize that this is a selfish decision. You know that you wont be keeping all of those cats, so what will you do with them? Just hope to find them good homes? That is a hard task, and each home found is a home taken from animals in real need.
A big culprit to this problem is the puppy mills. Puppy mills are where puppies are produced at high volume. They are usually kept in a complex of cages or in a feild. Conditions are almost always poor in these facilities and the dogs are often sick. These mills pump out millions of dogs into the USA each year. Shocking that these places are even allowed.
Please spread awareness for these unwanted pets! They are as loving as any pet can be and they did nothing to deserve the predicament that they are in. They need our help! Tell your friend! Thank you (:
If you have a way to fight back against puppy mills, please comment!
