Access to water is a basic human right, and voluntarily shutting off that access for thousands of poor residents is inexcusable -- especially when summer temperatures are starting to climb.
While Detroit's poverty rate has been rising, the city has been hiking the cost of water to more than double what it was ten years ago -- making it impossible for people to pay their bills. I urge you to stand with these residents: Keep the water flowing!
