Peter Cooper Village and Stuyvesant Town residents have to walk to an adjacent neighborhood to socialize and exercise their dogs. A large neighborhood (~30,000 people) like Stuytown needs to have its own dog park. The lack of a dog park, and the fact that there aren't even proper places for dogs to poop/pee make it clear that Stuytown is *NOT* dog friendly, and should not advertise as such. Please live up to your statement that you are "Dog Friendly" and build the necessary amenties that our residents and dogs need!

Here are some of the benefits of building a dog park --

**Dog owning residents will have a safe place to socialize and exercise our dogs without having to go outside of Stuytown. Non-dog owning residents will encounter fewer dogs (and puddles of pee) throughout PCVST as a result.

**There will be fewer arguments among residents and security, and residents will no longer risk getting hit with large fines for letting their dog pee or run around in a flower garden.

**Well exercised dogs are well-behaved dogs! Less barking, less aggressiveness, etc. Everyone wins!

A dog park will be an excellent step in the right direction, but for Stuytown to be truly dog friendly, the fencing practices around our apartments needs to be reevaluated. Please allow our dogs to utilize the grassy areas around our apartments. Imagine that, no more poop residue or puddles of pee to avoid on the sidewalks! The official rules state that grassy areas are OK for dogs, besides the areas specifically designated as "No Dogs"...yet, PCVST has erected fences around ALL the grassy areas to block access, which is an obvious contradiction of the official rules. At the very least, move the fencing back so that the flower beds are protected while leaving the grass accessible.
