F.D.O.C. deserves Equal Pay for Equal Risk.

Petition by William A Walsh, III

To be delivered to The Florida State House, The Florida State Senate, Governor Rick Scott, Rep. Daniel Webster (FL-10), Sen. Bill Nelson (FL-1), Sen. Marco Rubio (FL-2), and President Barack Obama.

We the Correctional Officers of the State of FL have been deprived of raises for six or more years. We are not being recognized as F.D.L.E. Certified Law Enforcement Officers even though we attend the same F.D.L.E. Certified Academies. We have been skipped the past two years for a five percent raise given by the Legislators to Florida Highway Patrol and other State Agencies. We have the same risk of Life as they do and we expect to get the Equal Pay for Equal Risk.
Join me as we bring this to Washington, D.C.
We deserve Equal Pay for Equal Risk. We have been left behind for numerous years. Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the State all start at higher pay than we do. All we want is to be treated equal, as our Brother and Sister Officers. We are all F.D.L.E. Certified Law Enforcement Officers. We are losing to many officers to other county jails etc. We have no way of attracting good young and seasoned officers because they can go to the county for $5000.00 to $10000.00 more per year. Also the lapse factors are causing more and more overtime. Just last week a young Oklahoma Correction officer died after working to many hours and hitting a tree on his way to his house. We need to eliminate this Lapse Factor and bring back 8 hour shifts with the proper relief factors. Please help this situation.
Thank You,
C.O. W. A. Walsh, III

Signed,

Bill Walsh

The Petition will give the Taxpayers of the State of
Florida a fair view of what is going on in State Politics. And how they can help us to retain Good Correctional Officers, to protect them by keeping the inmates they have deemed unfit to be out in society, in their prisons and not roaming the streets for citizens of prey. This will also allow the public to realize the fact that what we do really does matter in the scheme of ensuring public safety. It is us the Taxpayers that can bring this message to Tallahassee in the November 2014 elections. We need every person in Florida that is of age and eligible to vote, to register and vote early, vote absentee, or just plain go to the voting precinct in Nov. 2014.
