Tell congress to create a limit for top earners in a company to earn no more than (50+.0003*number of workers in a company) times the salary of the lowest paid worker in the same company.

Part-time workers should be included in this law, by setting a federal standard that defines how many hours a full-time job includes in a year. The hourly salary of a part-time worker would be multiplied by this number, and the result would be considered as a yearly salary for the computational purposes of this law.

Additionally, contracted workers should be included in the ratio.

All suggested numbers in the wage ratio formula are not final, and are up for discussion. Details of the proposed wage ratio law are also up for discussion.

This petition will be sent to the US government once it receives enough support, to try to pass wage ratio legislation.

If this legislation is passed, executives at companies with unfair pay ratios will increase pay for lower-earning employees to raise their own income ceiling.

The specific formula in this petition leaves room for top corporate earners to continue earning massive wages, in order to prevent economic issues within America, and to keep the principles of our nation's free-market system. For example, the CEO of Walmart would be able to make more than 710 times the company's lowest paid worker's salary.

We need this because America has some of the worst income inequality within companies of all developed nations.

And these are just the average numbers.

The worst ratio within an American company is at JC Penny, with the CEO making more than 1750 times the salary of the median-paid worker.
