In 2013 there were 747,408 registered sex offenders in The United States. They say close to 9 out of every 10 sex crimes are committed by individuals that do not have any record of ever committing a sex crime before.
Now lets's look at that last statement…….9 out of every 10 sex crimes are committed by individuals that do not have any record of ever committing a sex crime before.
Now, how can that be completely true?
In a lot of our court systems all over the US it is a proven fact that we have criminals arrested and charged with sexual crimes, which would indeed make them registered sex offenders. But the justice system in the US is allowing the defendants and their lawyers make up their own pleas with a lesser charge so they will not have to register as a sex offender. Yes, what I just said is a proven fact in states all over the US. Then the prosecutors/DA's are accepting these pleas. At times because the defendant will not plead guilty to anything if it has anything to do with being registered as a sex offender. And our prosecutor and DA's just want a win so they will accept and agree to whatever it takes to get them one. Now just because the prosecutor/DA accepts the plea they now have to covince the victim to accept the plea also. With that comes at most times guilt, scare tactics, forcing them, and intimidation. Now that that is done it still isn't over. It must now go passed the judge. The judge has the final say, he has the final ruling on this matter. So he can easily accept it just because he needs the win or wants the win also or he can actually realize that if he accepts this plea he is letting somebody who should truly be known as a registered offender just do what little time they have to do then walk right out the door as a free person in our society. And yes that is not what they are doing. They are accepting the plea and not taking a second look.
So do any of you realize what that exactly means???? That means that our justice systems in the US is contradicting their owns laws. The laws that these criminals are supposed to punished by when they break the law we just change when the justice system decides to. These laws are there to protect these victims involved. These laws that are there not to be broken. But they are being broken, and broken by the people that are supposed to be enforcing them. The people that are supposed to help us as victims of a serious crime make sure that justice is served.
So what does this do to the victims of this horrific crime?
1. Remember that statement (statistic) that I said to look closely at? That 9 out of 10 sex crimes it is the defendants 1st time committing this crime. Well how do we know if that is true?? That number cannot be true knowing now what I just told you now can it?? How can we prove or even say that they are first time offenders when they could of been caught before and the justice system accepted a plea to a lesser charge so they would not be a registered sex offender. So if they were indeed arrested again they would not come up as a registered sex offender so it would look like yes this was there first offense when indeed it could be there 2nd 3rd or even 4th. Messed up huh?
2. The victim that had these criminals arrested in the first place, now can not get the protection that they deserve. These defendants can harass them, stalk them, call them, even show up on their doorstep and there is nothing the victims can do because this person is not a registered sex offender and did not rape them or molest them because once again our justice system let them plead out to a lesser crime so they will not have to register. Just to have that win on their back. Our victims in the US are obviously a joke to our justice system.
3. Then the victims where the defendants were charged with the correct charges are now registered sex offenders but when it goes to the Tiering process these sex offenders again we are going to run into the same problem. How do we know that these sex offenders are not repeat offenders. Cause our justice system let them have a charge as part of the plea that would make them non registered sex offenders. So when they are being tiered, they are not being tiered at a correct and in the right tiering number.
What we are also doing is telling defendants of sexual assault/child molestation, its okay for what you did. We will listen to what you want cause we want the win. So if you do not want to be known as a registered sex offender we will indeed make that happen. Hey as long as you plead guilty to a lesser crime and do some little time for the horrific crime you did indeed do to someones daughter, son, grand daughter, grand son, or even niece or nephew then we both get we want thats all that matters. Oh yeah and no worries, we will also put you back into society as a regular individual because that is what you had wanted. Oh and the best part is yes you can do this again and we will repeat what we all did all over again. Sounds good to me, cause, I got my WIN. And no I will not feel bad that I just let you walk into someone else's life that may have a little girl, boy, or teenagers for that matter cause society will never know that yes, You should of and could of been charged with a sex offense and been a registered sex offender in The United States Of America.
This is my shortened version of what I had to say. There is so much more information I can give you but I think you understand by now.
