Sign the Petition to

Tennessee Department of Transportation and the governments of Wilson and Sumner Counties.

The new 109 bridge between Wilson & Sumner counties is a much needed addition. TDOT plans to tear the old bridge down. Let's save the old bridge and re-purpose it. This is a wonderful historic truss bridge built in 1954. It is also known as the Veteran's Memorial Bridge and the Cumberland River Bridge. Let's let TDOT, Wilson County, and Sumner County know that the community can still use this bridge and embrace it's history. The possibilities are endless for this bridge. Fishing, walking, a future greenway connector, weekend festivals, part of a parade route, a place to shoot music videos/movies, a park, and a platform for some great photography are all possible uses for this bridge if it is saved. Please sign this petition and let our officials know that we want to save this bridge.

Signed,

Cam Cornelius

This petition will show our government decision makers that there is a significant interest in saving the Old 109 Bridge. This will enable us to open a dialogue with them about funding, fundraising possibilities, and future ownership of the bridge while hopefully delaying it's destruction.
