March is deemed Endometriosis Awareness Month. As we all know, raising awareness, support, and education about the impact of endometriosis is a year round task but during the month of March, we pull out all the stops. A group of bloggers and myself would love for you to join in with us to help spread education and awareness regarding endometriosis! With 5.5 million women in North America alone being affected, there is a good chance that you know someone battling this often unrelenting disease.
The Endometriosis Research Center (ERC) shares the same vision as the Blogging for Endometriosis Awareness campaign in working to address the need for awareness, advocacy, support, education, and research. Like Blogging for Endo, they strive to give those who battle endometriosis a voice.
As a part of their mission, the ERC "strives to make a positive impact on behalf of all shareholders in the disease, to ensure that society recognizes the far-reaching impact the illness continues to have on patients of all ages - not just those trying to conceive - so that that tomorrow's daughters do not continue to suffer needlessly as their mothers and sisters have before them." When we donate to the ERC, we are not only speaking about the importance of endometriosis research, awareness, and education but we are putting our words into actions and putting both feet on the ground to make a difference.
By combining our voices both online and off, there is always a powerful outcome!
Instead of investing in giveaways for items that can be easily forgotten, the goal of the Blogging for Endometriosis Awareness campaign is to raise funds for the ERC in order to make a tangible difference in promoting the need for increased funding for research, awareness, and resources for those battling endometriosis and their families.
