Besides the medicinal properties of marijuana to help people increase their quality of life and potential life saving abilities, we have the ability to save our tax dollars from being unnecessarily spent. Pennsylvania spends in excess of $300 million dollars a year for crimes directly relating to marijuana. Over half of these are simple possession charges. With the decriminalization of marijuana, the state can then put that money back into our communities were it is needed most. The decriminalization of marijuana goes even further than medical and financial benefits. Crimes involving gang activity would decrease significantly because of eliminating "turf wars" from the illegal sale and distribution of marijuana. By decriminalizing the possession and cultivation of marijuana you are removing the black market from the streets, hence, making it safer for everyone. Decrease in violent crime, Numerous medical benefits, and huge financial capabilities for the state. Why is it still a crime to possess and cultivate marijuana? Governor Corbett has made statement that he will Veto any marijuana legislation that makes it through the legistlator. We the people must take action and force his hand for the better good and the interest of the people. I urge all Pennsylvania residents to sign this petition to force the hand of our state government to make the changes necessary to decriminalize marijuana possession and cultivation in the interest of the people and increased quality of life. People you know will greatly benefit from the imediate decriminalization of marijuana. Lets spread the word FAST and get this petition were it needs to go. Thank You for your support.
