Sign the Petition to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV)

We, the undersigned and the representatives of the innocent unborn, request that you bring a vote on the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act to the Senate floor. On January 15, 2014, the House Judiciary Committee approved H.R. 7 which is expected to pass the full House in short order. Next, the bill will need to be passed by the Senate.

The No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act would prohibit the use of public funding for elective abortions in all federal programs. Abortion is today’s greatest human rights injustice and has claimed millions of innocent lives. It is a travesty that our hard earned taxpayer dollars should go toward funding a cruel practice that we so vehemently believe is fundamentally against human dignity. Furthermore, studies have shown that government funding for abortion increases the number of abortions, a terrible prospect for the rights of the unborn.

Please stand for life and with the electorate by bringing the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act for a vote on the Senate floor.

Signed,

Recent public opinion polls and new laws (such as bans on abortions past 20 weeks) demonstrate the turning tide on abortion in this country. More Americans than ever are against abortion and state legislatures are listening as they push forward a wave of restrictions across the country to chip away at Roe vs. Wade. Additionally, most Americans - regardless of their view on abortion - oppose government funding for abortion.

Despite these gains, abortion is still resulting in deaths of the innocent and causing enduring pain for millions of American women. In effort to bring health and healing to them, we need national laws that end the barbarism; we need a single, government wide permanent protection against taxpayer funding for elective abortions. The House has already demonstrated support of such protections and we demand that the Senate follow suit.

Harry Reid, please stand for life and with the electorate by bringing the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act for a vote on the Senate floor.
