California tax credit incentives are highly discriminatory excluding independent productions of film, TV, commercial, new media, music and video games. In 2010 and 2014 state lawmakers added tax credits benefiting only a few productions while forcing billions of dollars of projects to leave the state because of discriminatory and limited tax credits. Women and minority owned production companies were left out of the legislation in California. As a result investors will not back projects in the state with the exception of the few projects favored by major lobbyists who also profit from job outsourcing. California can win back Hollywood if we expand opportunities for all.

We Are working on greater public private support for California's creative economy in film, TV, commercial, music, new media, and video game production and post production. Lawmakers in California continue to exclude independent productions in the tax credit legislation that has passed in the state in 2010 and 2014. Bring Hollywood Home's inclusive legislative leadership in 2014 lost by just one vote in the entertainment committee. Lobbyists for the major studios secured limited tax credits benefiting limited productions. The major studios benefit from job outsourcing to other states and countries. Reversing the exodus of jobs in the creative economy and ending the unfair distribution of the tax credits requires bold new solutions. Bring Hollywood Home is working on a new ideas and will submit new legislation that will bring serious capital to create jobs and opportunities to work in California. Please sign our petition to stop job outsourcing and Bring Hollywood Home.
