Thank you for promoting realistic body image for girls!
Lindsay Brie Mathers
You may know her as Katniss Everdeen from "The Hunger Games", and the newly released sequel, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" but Jennifer Lawrence is using her celebrity status to promote more than just the popular films.
In a recent interview with BBC Newsnight's Zoe Conway, Jennifer was asked about her stance on body image and why she decided not to lose weight before filming "The Hunger Games." She said:
"We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing [in The Hunger Games]... girls see enough of this body that they will never be able to obtain... It's an amazing opportunity to rid ourselves of that in this industry."
We want to say THANK YOU to Jennifer Lawrence for loving the skin she's in and being a great role model for girls.
We encourage her to continue standing up to the unhealthy pressures facing young actresses in Hollywood to be thin, which sets unrealistic expectations for all the girls who look up to them.
