Pledge to call the police or a national hotline when domestic violence happens

This pledge closed 3 months ago

According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, instances of domestic violence increase by at least 10% during the holidays, but calls for help go down by 50%.

Victims often don't understand the seriousness of what is happening, or they don't want to disrupt everyone's holidays by getting help.  They think if they can just keep the abuser calm, everything will be fine.  Sadly, it isn't true.

Victims get hurt, and some die, when they don't get the help they need.

Sometimes victims need help and support to make the call. If your mother, your sister, your aunt, your friend, or you are being abused,  let them know that they're not alone and getting help is the right thing to do.

Take the pledge to make the call to law enforcement at 9-1-1 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE - they can even chat with an advocate online.

You can help save a life. Get help. Break the Silence.
